The most valuable cultural property in Poreč, the Euphrasian Basilica, was registered on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1997. The early-Christian compound is the only complete landmark in the world preserved from that period.

The largest Roman temple in Istria is located at the very tip of the Poreč peninsula. It was built in the 1st century, and is known as the Great Temple.

The Canon’s House, a monumental building of the canonic, was completed in 1251. Some say that it is one of the best examples of Roman construction.

The existence of a church on this site was documented in the 13th century. It was called the Mother of God on Vrtlišće. In the 15th century a new church was built, called by the name of Our Lady of the Angels.

St. Nikola’s Chapel
